Venue features

Features are the questions you ask about every venue. You start with sixteen common ones, including Music curfew, Sound limiter or noise restrictions, Access via stairs, Lift on site, Parking close to the entrance, Power near the performance area, Smoke / haze allowed and Public liability insurance required.

Each venue answers each feature Yes, No or Not known, with an optional note, such as “Limiter set at 92dB” or “Music off by 23:30”.

Managing the list

Go to Venues > Venue Features. For each feature you can set:

  • Flag when: the answer that is a watch-out. “Sound limiter or noise restrictions” is flagged when the answer is Yes, “Easy access” when it is No. Flagged answers are shown first and highlighted wherever the venue appears.
  • Visible to customers: whether customers see this answer, and its note, on their event in the portal. The curfew, sound limiter and what effects are allowed are shown to customers to start with, because couples often ask.
  • The order they appear in.

Deactivate a feature to hide it everywhere without losing the answers.

Only admins can manage the list.

Where the answers show up

When you choose a venue on an event, a lead or the Convert to Enquiry window, a panel shows its photo and every flagged answer with its note, so nothing catches you out.

Customers only see the features you have marked as visible to them, never your flags or notes on the others.

The blacklist

If you won’t play a venue again, blacklist it:

  1. Open the venue.
  2. Click Blacklist and enter the reason. A reason is required.

A blacklisted venue:

  • carries a red ribbon and its reason, and sorts to the end of the venues list
  • shows a warning with the reason whenever it is chosen for a lead or event
  • turns red in the Leads list, which has a Blacklisted venue filter

The blacklist warns, it never blocks: you can still take the booking if you want to. Customers never see it.

To undo it, open the venue and click Remove from blacklist. Only admins can blacklist.
