Form submissions and lead sources

Every form submission is kept, even when it didn't become a lead, and lead sources show you where your bookings come from.

Submissions

Communication > Submissions keeps a record of everything sent through your forms, with every answer, including fields that aren’t linked to anything. Submissions can’t be edited, so they are an accurate record of what was sent.

Each submission shows the lead it created and that lead’s status, so you can see which enquiries turned into bookings.

A submission with no lead

Some submissions don’t create a lead: the form might have Create an enquiry switched off, or the email belongs to one of your staff. To turn one into a lead, open it and click Create lead. The lead form opens with the person’s details filled in.

Lead sources

Lead sources record how people found you, such as Google, Facebook, a wedding fair or a recommendation. Manage the list in Communication > Lead Sources. A starter list is set up for you.

Lead sources are picked:

  • by visitors, from a Lead source field on your enquiry form
  • by you, on a lead or event

Seeing what works

The Leads report breaks enquiries down by source, so you can see which sources bring in the most enquiries and which turn into bookings. The Customer & Marketing report shows your forms and sources over time. See Running reports.
