Turning a lead into a booking

Convert a lead into an enquiry, send the quote, and let the customer confirm. The lead keeps itself up to date from there.

In Leads and enquiriesUpdated

When a lead is ready for a price, you turn it into an enquiry: an event in your system that you can quote. The customer then confirms the quote online and it becomes a booking.

Convert to Enquiry

  1. Open the lead from Leads.
  2. Click Convert to Enquiry.
  3. Check the event type, venue, date, start time and finish time. All five are needed for a real event, and they are filled in from the lead where it has them.
  4. Confirm. Mobile DJ Manager creates the event at Enquiry status and opens it for you.

What carries across from the lead:

  • The customer. A lead from your form becomes a customer at this point. If they have booked with you before, their existing record is used.
  • The package and add-ons, priced for the event date
  • A suggested deposit, worked out from your deposit settings
  • Any Spotify playlist preferences they picked on your form

The lead moves to Awaiting Decision and is linked to the new event. Use Open enquiry on the lead to jump between them.

Send the quote

From the event, click Send Quote. See Sending a quote for what the customer sees and the options in the quote email.

When the customer confirms

The customer clicks Confirm my booking on their quote. The event moves to Awaiting Contract and the lead to Booked. With the default automations, the contract is emailed to them straight away.

Only booked leads count as converted. In the Leads report, a lead counts as converted when its event is actually booked, not when you convert it to an enquiry. A quote that is never accepted is a lost lead.

Converting with a new customer

If the person’s email belongs to one of your staff, the lead can’t be converted. You’ll see a message explaining why. Use a different email for the customer.
