The first time you sign in, a setup wizard opens on your dashboard. It covers the settings that matter on day one, and every step saves as you go, so you can stop and come back later.
The steps
- Welcome: a quick overview of what’s coming.
- Business: your business name, contact details, address, time zone and language.
- Bookings: your currency, how deposits work, when balances are due, your most common event type and whether you charge VAT.
- Branding: upload your logo and pick your colours. Mobile DJ Manager suggests colours taken from your logo, and you can click any swatch to swap them. Your logo and colours appear on the client portal, your emails and your PDFs.
- Payments: connect Stripe so customers can pay by card. You can skip this and do it later. See Taking card payments with Stripe.
- Calendar: connect Google Calendar so your bookings appear there automatically. See Syncing with Google Calendar or another calendar app.
- Import: bring your existing bookings, customers and templates in from your old system. See Importing your bookings with AI import.
- Done: a checklist of what you have set up, with an option to take a short tour.
Leaving to connect Stripe or Google? That’s fine. When you come back, the wizard reopens on the step you left.
Finishing later
Click Finish later to close the wizard. It opens again once per session until you finish, and you can always reopen it with the Finish setting up button at the top of the dashboard.
Only admins see the wizard. Employees you invite go straight to their dashboard.
What you start with
Your account comes with ready-made defaults, so nothing is empty on day one:
- Event types such as Wedding, Birthday Party and Corporate Event
- Email templates for quotes, confirmations, reminders, invoices and payments
- A standard booking contract to adapt
- A wedding planning form
- Automations for booking confirmations, new leads, signed contracts and payments
- Transaction types, lead sources, timeline and playlist categories
Change or delete any of them to suit the way you work.
Check the contract. The starter contract is a starting point, not legal advice. Read it through and change it to match your own terms before you send it to anyone.
