The event timeline

Customers build the running order of their day in the portal, with songs linked to each moment, and you see it on the event.

In Planning and musicUpdated

The timeline is the running order of an event, from guests arriving to the last dance. Customers build it themselves, and you and your staff can add to it.

Switching it on

The timeline needs two switches:

  1. Settings > Events > Event Timeline: turn on Enable event timelines. Add Intro text to explain it to customers at the top of their timeline page.
  2. Each event type that should have one: open Settings > Events, go to the event types and turn on the timeline for the type. Wedding has it on to start with.

What customers do

In the portal, under Planning > Timeline, customers:

  • add moments such as “Ceremony”, “Drinks reception”, “First dance” and “Speeches”
  • give each a time, a category and notes
  • drag them into order
  • link songs from their playlist to each moment, such as the processional or the first dance

On the event

The event’s Timeline tab shows the same list, with the songs linked to each moment shown underneath. You can add, change, reorder and remove items at any time, and link songs from either the timeline or the playlist.

Removing a timeline moment never removes its songs, it just unlinks them.

Categories

Timeline categories, such as Ceremony, Reception and Evening, help group the day. Manage them from Settings > Events. A starter set is created for you.

On the night

Print the timeline from the Timeline tab, or print the full event details, so your DJ has the running order to hand.
