Every customer has a login for your portal. When they are invited depends on how they were added.
How customers get their login
- Added in Events > Customers: they are emailed a welcome link to set their password. The link works for 3 days.
- Added with the + button on an event or lead, or converted from a lead: nothing is emailed straight away. They set a password when they confirm their quote or open their contract link.
- Imported: nothing is emailed, so old customers aren’t surprised. Send them a link when you want them to use the portal (below).
Nobody’s password is ever emailed to them. Customers always choose their own.
Sending a link
Open the customer and click Send password reset link. If they have never set a password, this sends a fresh welcome link that lasts 3 days. Otherwise it is a normal password reset.
The button is hidden for imported customers with no email address. Add a real address with Change email first.
Changing a customer’s email
Customers own their login, so you can’t edit their name or email directly. To give them a new address, use Change email on the customer.
Where they sign in
Customers sign in at your portal’s address. Add a Portal login button to your website so they can always find it. See Adding forms and widgets to your website. Your emails can link to it with the {application_home} tag.
Customers of more than one business
If a customer has also booked another business that uses Mobile DJ Manager, they use the same email and password for both, but each business’s portal is separate and never shows the other.
The Customers list
Events > Customers shows each customer’s contact details and when they last signed in to the portal. Open a customer to see all their events.
